We love our schools and nonprofits and want to actively support literacy efforts and encourage reading! Bluebird Books would love to combine our passion for books with fundraising efforts that focus on shopping local and supporting small business.
Bluebird Books will partner with schools/nonprofits on a designated Tuesday to hold a “Bluebird Books Book Fair” for the school/nonprfoit from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and will donate 10 percent of ALL purchases (no mention or receipt required) during that time. We will promote the shopping date to the community as well through our social media and family stores’ social media (Evoke and Twisted Tree Baking Company) to provide general information on the school/nonprofit and invite others to join in the fun! We will tag the partner's social media and ask them to share as well. It would be a bonus if a favorite staff member, teacher or librarian would offer to read for “Bluebird Storytime” at 4:30/5:00 p.m. while kids, parents, grandparents, and others are shopping for elementary schools.
Bluebird Books will distribute a report of total sales and provide the donation in one of three ways that the school finds most meaningful:
• Bluebird Books gift cards in $20 increments;
• One check for the total amount to the school’s designated fund;
• Store credit for the library to purchase books through Bluebird at 20% off the retail rate (which affords the biggest donation option of combining the cash amount to an at-cost amount). Our only request is that the school promote the opportunity to all parents and personnel at least two weeks out from the book fair fundraiser date with a reminder the day before (Bluebird can provide copies to be distributed to help save on printing costs).
Bluebird will do up to four book fairs a month. The book fairs are open to ALL Edmond/Deer Creek schools (elementary, middle and high schools) as well as select nonprofits. The only exception for the shopping time period for a book fair is all special discounts offered during regular hours will not be eligible other than marked sales items to give the biggest fundraising opportunity for the schools.
